As wonderful as it's been to create comics regularly, the last year has been a dedication to nurturing the depth of my art. I haven't written as many chats as I have sat at the iPad redrawing the same line over and over again until I'm satisfied with the width and curve of the stroke, and it's all been in service of the first Oxherd Boy book for kids called, Big Enough.
The demands of visual storytelling for Big Enough pushed my painting to new heights, that sometimes I still gaze at the illustrations and ask, "How did I do that?" And the answer, of course, is that I didn't do it alone. I worked with so many incredible people like my editor Alvina Ling and Art Director Saho Fujii, who with their abundance of experience and sensitivity to both beauty and balance -- nurtured ideas, offered critiques, and then gave me space to grow.
Thank you for being here to share the book's cover, which is indicative of the art you'll find throughout the work. Big Enough comes out April 1, 2025. I'll continue to share more on what the story is all about and keep you updated on its progress into the world. For now, there's only gratitude.
